The celebration of Frederic Chopin's bicenntenial was superb.  The Paderewski Music Society has once again successfully honored a great musician's legacy.  The performers love for the music was evident.  Chopin would be proud!

Chopin was up there smiling, and applauding, at the piano artistry of Wojciech Kocyan and John Perry, as they celebrated his 200th birthday at the Colburn School's Zipper hall last week. It was a special concert in Chopin's honor presented by the Paderewski Music Society and the Modjeska Art & Culture Club. An overflow audience marveled at the virtuosity of these distinguished pianists and their enthusiastic performances.  It was an exciting and memorable tribute that reminded one of the great and enduring spirit of Poland... a night to actually feel the heart and soul of the nation through the genius of a man named Chopin. It is events like this that enrich our culture, touch our humanity, and prove that our past can, indeed, give hope for the future.

Thanks for Saturday night.  Job well done.  The performers were excellent, and we loved it.  Chopin, along with Beethoven, Brahms, Haydn, Handel, Mozart, and Schubert, was one of the greats of his time.  His music will live on and inspire the best within us as long as human beings value thought and delight in beauty.  A world without Chopin and others of his stature would be an unfriendly place indeed.  Keep us in mind for future events.

Marta and I wanted to extend our thanks for such a great evening Sat nite celebrating Chopin.  My mom and her date really had fun too. We were so lucky to get seats on the keyboard side and up on the balcony. We felt so special, like VIPs for sure.
You and your Society team did a superb job at everything, the event was a tremendous success, as far as the guest's perspective goes.  I hope all the planning/execution went just as well from the event organizer's side of things. Keep us posted about the competition coming up.
Thanks again, Chris.

The Frederic Chopin’s 200th. Birthday celebrating event at Colburn School, Conservatory of Music met expectations of music connoisseurs and no doubt it warmed hearts of all Poles who attended. At our arrival the Zipper Hall was filled (and overflowing) with audience ready for the event. The two organizers of this venue, The Paderewski Music Society and Modjeska Art and Culture Club had living proof that Los Angeles audience is more than ready for events celebrating the Polish composers and legacy of musician, statesman and humanitarian Ignacy Jan Paderewski.  Her Excellency, Consul General Ambassador Joanna KoziƄska - Frybes had brought political recognition of the event, and the host of the event, actor Jane Kaczmarek, had made this event so warm with her light and charming style.  And then the music happened... Thank you the virtuoso performers for a delightful feast to our souls!   With anticipation now, we’ll wait for the upcoming American Paderewski Piano Competition in May, another world-class musical event.  The competition that will encourage, motivate and recognize the achievements of piano performers, and exhibit the public to Ignacy Jan Paderewski.  And, with such events we will continue our great artist, composer and stateman’s vision for Poland’s integration into multiethnic and multicultural United States.
